Hi, I'm Sophie
Project manager. Parent. An expat based in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.
The initial few months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday chores felt more tangled than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the job. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Built Iris Nectar Daisy
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or just surface-level tourism content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical insights from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a genuine change
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Switzerland goes on, and so does the learning process. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue documenting our discoveries.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Sophie
